A bit about me:

I’m Shelley and I have worked in various clinical settings as a Registered Nurse since 2005. I graduated from Yorkville University in May 2022 with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology.

I am a Licensed Counselling Therapist with The College of Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick (CCTNB - LTC-C22-048). I am also a professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and hold a professional designation of CCC (Canadian Certified Counsellor) through the CCPA ( #10007149).

Upon graduation, the College of Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick (CCTNB) requires additional post-graduate supervision. I am pleased to be working with Danielle Whalen, BA, MA - of Whalen Counselling for my post-grad supervision (LCT17-167 / CCPA #0980).

Within my private-practice at Nightingale Way Counselling - I currently offer individual counselling services to clients ages 12 and beyond, via both IN-Person and Virtual counselling sessions.

My current areas of focus within therapy sessions include: anxiety, stress, overwhelm, depression, ADHD (especially in girls and women), grief/loss, PTSD, overall mental well-being, and more.

I engage in a person-centred, strength-based approach to therapy with attention to trauma-informed care. I work within various modalities including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT).

I believe in the importance of providing clients with an eclectic “Tool Kit” consisting of many positive strategies and techniques to fit various situations to enhance coping and build personal resilience skills - such as mindfulness, meditation, journaling, and much more.
